I'm still annoyed with my younger brother for giving away my Dinky Toys Fab 1 to one of his mates in 1977.....
Still have my Fab 1 Dinky toy (my dad owned a toy shop in Tooting at the time), although the pink paintwork has faded a bit over the years.... :D

"It’s May 1973, and we’re looking at the petrol forecourt of B&K Motors in the Kensington area of Liverpool. Judging by the crowds, there’s something interesting going on, but we’re not close enough to tell what the action actually is. As months go, it’s quite a significant one, because Value Added Tax has just been introduced in the UK to replace the old Purchase Tax, following on from a number of countries in Europe. On the forecourt, we have a Ford Cortina Mk3, an Austin Maxi 1750 and a Cortina Mk2. That car’s deadly rival the BMC 1100 (Austin or a Morris?) sits behind – and, nearest to the camera, is a Mk3 Mini (basic 850 judging by the lack of chrome trim around the rear windows?)"

A nice oldie from the Mk2 S brochure pic session, also used on some Mk3 brochures with a bit of touching in to remove the exterior door hinges and change the bonnet badge....
