A screen grab from The Persuaders, filmed in 1970, Ian Hendry escapes the clutches of Lovely Rita in a blacked out Mk2 Cooper....

They are amazing. Somehow they almost eliminated the rear wheel arches from intruding into the tub, making it a very practical open space.

Re: Just a nice period picture
A nice picture but one tinged with sadness - the occasion is Rolling Stone Brian Jones' funeral on 10th July 1969, the location is his parent's driveway in Hatherley Road, Cheltenham where the funeral procession started, his sister Patricia is on the left of the photo and I believe the Mini was hers.... the big chap standing next to her is the Stones' minder and general behind the scenes geezer Tom Keylock....

And he's still not letting on.
Wasn't there supposed to be a film about Brian a few years ago?

There's been one in the works for years, the one with Leo Gregory playing him was ok but it could be done better I think.wantafaster1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:47 am And he's still not letting on.

My friend Jane remembers the procession coming by Lakeside Junior school, Hatherly road that day... her husband who was at the same school says he doesn't remember it, he was probably listening to the The Beatles!!
Cheers

I remember seeing my mum crying in the kitchen when it made the news, she was a massive Stones fan and went to their first gigs, following them round Richmond and Eel Pie Island etc.

Hey those look like they would have come into the country around the same time as my Inno, which is also an EA plate. I know of two other Innocenti Cooper 1300 Exports which are in sequence with mine. Wonder if they came from this dealership.
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!
