On ITV this afternoon from Goodwood twiggy said she owned the first Automatic Mini , it was purple and from the photo shown may have been a Radford . Is this true ?

Seems unlikely. She didn’t learn to drive until 1969 (19 years old), whereas the mini-matic was announced four years earlier and displayed at the Earls Court motor show in November 1965...

Maybe she meant her first Mini was an automatic?

She definitely said that she had the first one which was especially made for her. But I guess when your knocking on 70 and lead a jet set life style then your memories are probably a bit fuzzy.

Interesting clip, but I reckon it is most likely someones memory having dropped out a bit over the intervening 50 years.

Mini's & Twiggy, you can't get much more 60's than that!
