This looks to be a relatively solid 1960 car,

I agree. A great starting point. Shame about the front panel - was that done to give a bit more clearance when removing/refitting the engine do you think? At least whoever did it didn't cut it ALL off and fit a glassfibre front

My jaw regularly drops at some of the asking prices for parts, I was asked for £800 for a grey/gold back seat recently.

I do think you can still pick up decent original parts for a fraction of that though. I saw a decent green/grey Cooper front seat go for under £50 this week on Ebay and then I see these grey/gold back seat covers go for less than £200 for the pair so parts still can be had for reasonable money I think...

Might be worth a look though , despite all the Bull` in the advert and the bolt-on carp...

800 for the rear seats is not unreasonable from what I have seen them go for on eBay recently. It's stupid. I watched those covers (luckily don't need them :)) but they looked a bit tatty. I did try to go on a front parcel shelf in so-so condition and it went over 200.

Ha! I noticed one of those glass washer bottles that have so gotten folks worked up sold by the same seller recently, in that link. 440+!
