I recently reported to Car and Classic what I thought was a scam, where the seller was an executer of a will and offered a bargain car, but you had to pay in advance for a viewing which would be deducted from the final price if and only if you bought said bargain, and of course you had to pay the viewing fee in advance.
My wife is a solicitor and her reaction cannot be published here but she confirmed that kind of charge would never be allowed.
I actually had 3 or 4 quite 'in you face' type reply from C and C before they finally agreed that the practice was illegal and that they would look into it.

IMHO that is why people get away with this ess h 1 t for so long. It takes a bloody mind and more than a little tenacity to even report a scam.

What i dont get is why EBay is not prosecuted for selling counterfeit goods, generally.
Surely it would be easy for the boys in blue to get a few arrests ?

I imagine ebay would argue they are not selling the goods in the same way that Facebook argue they don't publish the content on their platform. I am sure trading standards could go after some of the sellers though, especially repeat offenders. I'd be surprised if that hasn't happened on occasions.

I am sure that would be their defence, but they do take a commission, or charge for each sale, so they are intrinsically involved in each transaction.... cant see that they could argue they are just publishers.
May be a bit more to do with whether TS or The thin blue line, have any interest in pursuing.....

Why do the air filter housings always seem to be missing on cars that need refurbishment?
I guess 10 years ago they were trying to get it running and then abandoned it.
