Blimey.

This actually looks worth the £££.

Very very similar to one of my cars so have watched with interest. From the extra photos it looks like a good buy ;-)

£3500 for a tidy 2006 Civic Type R - which would blow the doors of that - sounds a better idea.

£18'500 for a Clubman Estate? Seriously?

I just struggle to think of who the market is.......is not original, its not a Q car, its not a sporty model, its not most favoured shape (sorry), a very niche buyer indeed....

I find with Minis that the law of diminishing returns applies more than other cars. You can spend 10 grand on an MED engine and down the Dronfield bypass, a 320d is going to hand you your arse on a silver platter. Just forget it. 80-90 bhp is enough. Driveable, reasonably reliable and not tragic on fuel.
Me - I'd have a decent Mark II Mini 998 on drums and Hydro, just fine for the sort of motoring I have in mind.
I loved tearing about in a Mini but those days are over.

I have to say that I agree with you. I wouldn't normally knock anybody elses car or taste and I'm certainly not a purist but that - particularly at that price - just leaves me cold I'm afraid :?

Minworld advertised their finished Clubman Estate project car for a year starting at about £17-18k and slowly reduced it to about £14k with no serious takers and a couple of scammers, so it eventually went to auction at Historics. Apparently there were three bidders who quickly passed the reduced reserve and kept going to £18,200, roughly the asking price they had been after a year earlier in the classified ads.
