For those not on FB: It's a LHD 67 Mk1 non-S with a 1293 A-series engine, single 1.75" SU, LCB, 11-stud head (with only 9 fitted ), Hardy Spicers, 4pot brakes. Bodywork replaced/patched in all the usual places - some sketchy cauliflower welding but ground back nicely, and shiny red/black paint scheme with group 2 arches. Repro badges are Cooper S (it's clearly neither). He's asking £15k.

That is a nice car and more realistically priced. Not so special or zero miles that adding a few hundred or a thousand miles a year wouldnt spoil it, going to shows etc.

That does look lovely. One of the best colour combinations in my opinion.
Please excuse my ignorance everyone, but what should a buyer look out for when purchasing a mk1 Cooper? I’m no novice to minis,I’ve owned at least ten,and had my first when I was 16 ,and have owned some with some serious performance, and my parents owned countless mk1’s and mk2’s,but Ive never owned anything earlier than a 1973 mk3,so I know the obvious about the usual rusty areas etc,but is there any way of verifying if a mk1 is a genuine Cooper or not? Obviously I know a mk 1 has the smaller window but that’s about as far as my knowledge goes lol

andrs1800 .. i suggest you buy the book .. "Original Mini Cooper and Cooper S" by John Parnell.. there are many other books on the subject however the Parnell book is the one that is often quoted . :)
