Looking at the inner sills and the doors that looks like it has been restored before. Would make a nice car once done, but it would be a labour of love.

A mate has a very early Mk3 project I stripped for him before Xmas. Really interesting seeing all the Mk2 ‘cross over’ bits like the toggle switches, washer parts, bonnet hinges etc.

As you say though a labour of love with their values still low.

Hopefully my 29k never welded Aqua Mk3 will be at Blyton, though I said that last year...!

Looks like a repainted service plate to me. There was no car 312 on the 1966 event.

Yes, highest entry number was 245 in 1966.

Number font is not right either

And why was 1866 on the plate, not for the 100th running of the event, but the 100th anniversary of the town of Monte Carlo.
