They all had 11 bolt cylinder heads the same as the UK Mk3 Cooper S / 1300 GT with pressed steel valve rockers. Internally they had Cooper S pistons, 12G1817 tuftrided crankshaft based on 12G1505 casting and 1300 GT connnecting rods. :?

Did the GT not have the regular 1300 rods with the balance weights on the caps?

The 70 BHP MG 1300, Riley Kestrel, Austin / Morris 1300 GT had better quality rods than the ordinary common 1275cc engine used in the Austin, Morris, Vanden Plas, Wolseley ADO16 and 1275 GT Minis. You are correct they have the balance weights on the caps but are balanced and numbered and have strengthening webs half way up the rod the same as the Innocenti engine. From what I’ve seen over here the Authi Mini Cooper had the ordinary 1275cc engine unlike the Innocenti and 1300 GTs. I never thought the Authi as nice as the Innocenti Cooper Minis :D

Some of the cars at GC Motors have been there for around ten years - they just put the prices up every now and then to see if someone will bite...!
