Me neither, the transverse 'FJ' blocks turn up regularly but I can't remember the last time I saw a 185 S head come up for sale, the small bore ones do ocassionally.

He’s been rattling away, getting upset at people who disagree about the “gold mine” he thinks he’s sitting on.

Even if it was an NOS 970 block (not that it is), it’s unused because nobody has a 970 missing the motor. Scarcity is meaningless without demand...

No one has ever asked me for 970 stuff , which is annoying because I got quite back bit of it :lol:

I just use the blocks for 1071,s

My 9 stud 185 head was modified by Downton and sold via Richard Miles in 1967. I’ve been trying to research this as I’ve been told they are quite a rare head and none of the literature I’ve seen lists a 185 in the conversion info.
