Because they don't know or care about the details, just the profit and as they are big players this will be bought by someone with no idea and loads of money (earth calling Drew Pritchard........do you read me ?). These Crayford badges were cast by a friend of mine a few years ago for the other person who is selling them on Ebay as repro badges for £22.00. They are not original and don't have a lot of age to them!
