I am considering the following changes to the forum. As I believe the increased number of fora has diluted the post count. I would appreciate your comments on these proposed changes.

1) Action Days section: delete & merge with "General section". This section has always had minimal content & as not everyone goes there, what content it has is usually reproduced in the general section too. Deleting this will mean that all posts regarding Action days will be posted in the General section & will receive a wider viewership.

2) Events section: Delete & merge with General section. This has been in operation for 4 months & has only received 15 threads. I feel that this info would receive a wider readership if it was moved back to the general section.

Your comments are welcomed.

Thanks, Mark

Sounds reasonable but perhaps retitle General Chat as General Chat, Events and Action Days.

I agree with Dearg1275. A re-title of the merged sections is a good idea.

Makes sense.

Just a thought regarding the Technical section and the How To section?

Right now they are top and bottom of the list and maybe some of the technical how to guides could just be sticky posts or linked in some way?

Have the "how to" items as sticky posts at the very top of the technical forum you mean? Yes.

I think the events section should remain as it is very easy for people to view up and coming events without them disappearing down the General Section very quickly. If you look at the events posts very few are replied to so they would be lost and forgotten within a day. I would say this would be the same for the Action Days section. I know those have a better response, but I think it still helps to be able to find the threads an information easily. Perhaps a merging of Events and Action Days would be an idea.

I think the idea of putting the Mini How To in the Technical section is a good one, but I am not a fan of sticky threads. I think they just force more recent stuff down the page if I do stray into a particular section. The forum does have a search function which works well and I use it to find older threads that I have something to add to or I am looking for a piece of information.
