Does anyone have any ideas about the origins of this wheel? It seems to be a perfectly ordinary 3½" 21A2744 Mini rim - it has the BL part number on it as you can see - but it has extra lugs fitted, presumably for a slightly smaller diameter hub cap?

Possibly an early van wheel which had just the centre hubcap.

That isn't a Mini wheel it is a trailer wheel. Mounting lugs were
for a domed heavy hubcap to clear the hub

That being the case, why does it have a BMC part number stamped on it?

I'm not sure, but they were probably bought from BMC by the trailer suspension manufacturer and modified. I am certain though that they were never fitted to Minis in that form as OE,also they were always black.

That part is listed as a Mini wheel.

It's a trailer wheel.
