Very sad news I'm afraid for those that knew him , Elvet Pierce passed away suddenly on Sunday 19th December at the age of 74 . Elvet was a motorsport enthusiast through and through and many here may remember him as the proud Mk1 Mini owner who often attended my MCR displays at the Oulton Park Gold Cup and Pageant Of Power in old 'JFO'. He had owned a Cooper or two in the 60's and once told me he turned down the chance to buy the original '8 EMO' in a somewhat battered state after it's stint destruction testing in Wales, mainly cos his own 1071 was in much better nick !
He was also something of a local historian and some of his interesting life is detailed here..

I'll remember him as a true gent with a great sense of humour and my thoughts go to the Pierce family especially son Brynmor who has posted here from time to time over the years.

Very sad news,

I am sure I can speak for everyone here when I say our thoughts go out to Brynmor & the family at this very sad time.

I only just noticed this , how very touching of you Pete..
Dad was quite a character to say the least and we're much the poorer without him.

That said JFO wil be out in my hands next year, so come and say hi if you see me.
