AEG 151 block question
Hi I have a block for sale AEG151 . It has bolts to hold the main caps on . Is this correct or should it have studs and nuts... or either ? ... ken

The early 1071 blocks used bolts, if they are correct type there is a raised 'dowel' section on the bolt above the threaded section which locates the main caps.
If you have the correct bolts don't lose them.

Early blocks have fitted bolts that are unique to the 1071 .
Later block have studs .
They are not directly interchangeable because the location diameters are different sizes
Approximately the first 2700 blocks have bolts

Yes that figure includes FJ blocks .
The location diameter is bigger on studs so you have to machine down to suit early blocks .
Or open out block and cap locations if you want loads of work .
