Mk1 Cooper door window bright trim
Can anyone give advice on fitting bright trim to door window surround to mk1 Cooper. I have new heritage doors new trim and rivets. it doesn’t look straight forward. I have looked on line and not found anything. Thanks

This question comes up quite often and if you look in the index, you'll see it and several variations of fitting the chrome trims too. If I was clever, I'd search it for you. But look up 'door chrome trim fitting'

Re: Mk1 Cooper door window bright trim
I've got a few pics somewhere, and if you want to see the specific locations there was a NOS door on ebay, where the holes for the rivets can easily be seen. In my experience these are typically central in the frame. Pic attached.
The rivets come in two types and have different fixing logic as it were. The back 3 have washers that enable you to slide the trim down, then it slides onto the only similar washer type at the bottom front of the door. You then 'pop' the trim over the remaining rivets that have the domed heads.
I always fit the lower trim first, which is straightforward with clips that go over the edge of the door. I do this by fitting the clips onto the trim and lubricating them with Supertrol, so when you press it onto the door edge it not only slides on easier, you have protection if a clips scratches the paint.
If I can find my pics I'll post them, but hope that helps?

Found some pics. Here you can see the trim being slid over the washer type rivets with Supertrol lubrication, and just before one last gentle push after catching the front water type rivet. Once down it just pops on to the other dome headed ones.

Andy, I always file/smooth the leading edge of the vertical strip to ensure there are no sharp edges that could scratch the paint as it slides down over the rivets.
