Re: Marina TC
Not a TC but the first company pool car I was allowed to drive in the mid 1970s was an 1300cc automatic 4 door marina. The company fleet manager got 3 for 2. 2 auto Marinas and V8 Rover for him! Those were the days, we drove them like we stole them!

Re: Marina TC
WTF .......
Grab handle looks a little of of place on a 3 door
Maybe it was something to grab as the marina's wallowed round the corners

That's an ADO 16 arm rest / door pull, playing ADO 28 arm rest.
This is what was available in the parts bin.

It would have helped if BL had done that at the start of production, like so many of their cars by the time they had finally got them right, their earlier poor reputation made it hard to win customer sales in the showrooms. (eg.1800 heavy steering, Maxi cable gearchange, Princess warranty claims/not getting a hatchback until the Ambassdor, TR7 hardtop to convertible/TR8 - both too late, etc.)Riley 1.5 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 2:22 pm Fitting an early Marina with the suspension of a late model solves a lot of cornering problems. Just adding the stabilizer bars makes a lot of difference. And there's even the late Ital that uses conventional shock absorbers in the front: that one corners very good.

My friend Leslie Barham owned 1.8TC XON 254 J which was featured on the BL advert at the time. The advert featured 3 cars as I recall. A 1.3 saloon as 'fast', a 1.8 saloon as 'faster' and the 1.8TC as '....good morning officer. He did a lot of insurance and financial work for BL
