Video of the Wolseley variant of ADO 16. Very few of the automatic MK II`s still exist.

Used to get so excited finding one of those in the scrapyard. Was it a twin carb 1100 with the 12G295 head, or the full fat 11 stud 1275?

Such cracking little cars, a pity so few have survived. I'd be happy with a standard 1100 - I rescued one in 2005, CJO97D, a Connaught green Morris.

Me too!
Although it often seemed to involve climbing to the top of a wobbly 3 or 4 high stack of rusty ADO16's only to find the head and carbs had already gone!

My best was a 1967 VdP 1100 Mark 1, but with the optional 1275 engine. Apparently it was S crank/rods in a 1275 solid block. I know it was 30 quid with no carbs.

Burt Haynes scrapyard in Wantage was a legend.

Back in July this year I bought a reconditioned Gold Seal 1098cc MG unit complete with twin carburettors, air filter remote control and radiator for £260 :D

This had set from 1970 and was never ran. It had the bores filled with oil and turned over freely. The engine number is 8G160RN9893 AD, block 12A497, crank 12G82, gearbox 22G68 and cylinder head 12G295. I have it in my Riley Kestrel Mk1 and it drives like new 8-)
