yes when I was asked to paint a model boat ....I thought the customer would be put off at the potential cost ..until they said it was made from solid silver... £30k's worth. . and no it wasn't to hid some ill gotten gains....just some one with plenty to spend. he wanted it to be the exact colour scheme of the real one which he owned....all I no is it was going to Saudi Arabia.
we had to remove it from the workshop every night where it was stored in a strong room off the premises.
anyway I charged more to paint it than a lot of full car resprays...in fact I would like to start specialising in them :lol:

it went back to the silversmiths after that .....I think the top was staying silver.

Quite ironic you this song for me. ...
When I worked at a vauxhall dealer in late 80s. ..this song must have been back in the charts, and some of the other lads always sang the chorus to me
"Oh I'd like to know where you got that nose from" :lol:
