Classic Car Weekly 18.04.18
A hoard of spares for British classics built up by Earlpart – which went into liquidation last month – has been saved by a Derby spares specialist. David Kingerley, who already runs David Kingerley Classic Car Spares, confirmed that he has bought the Derbyshire based BMC parts supplier's asets.

‘Tragic sequence of illnesses’ to key staff contributed to the failure of Earlpart. Established in 1974, Heanor based BMC motor vehicle parts and accessories company, Earlpart Ltd, has entered liquidation, following a voluntary winding up. The business entered formal liquidation on 21st February 2018.

Glad to hear that the majority of the stock has been bought & will remain available. But I'm not so sure that all the people that had their legs lifted in the last few months that Earlparts was trading will ever see their money again.

I was already wondering what was going on with Earlpart as I was trying to get some parts from them... Glad to hear that David has taken over large parts of their stock! Hopefully David is also willing to continue parts supply in the future.

Also not sure if this was already mentioned but their field full of hydrolastic and hydrogas displacers was ‘rescued’ ready for refurbishment.

There have been genuine developments, and behind the scenes even more has been achieved this past week than is shown in this factual post:

...David Kingerley owns the oldest known Vanden Plas Princess 1100, so he has a vested interest in the ADO16 range :D

I have visited a couple of times since Dave took it on and can say that he has certainly made progress. The business was obviously in a very sad state with many parts turning to rust. There are 1100 half engines lying in the long grass that will never turn again. As well as AO16 parts he has Triumph 2000 parts and some bits for Farina models. One very interesting car there was a Riley Silhouette, one of only 3 made and the only known survivor of those 3.

This is good news to read, aside from the ill health causing Earlpart to cease trading, of course.
