I think the last time the vendor offered that Sherpa it was £8000. If that was a Transit it would have sold long ago, but a diesel Sherpa is going to be a hard sell at that price, especially a LHD unregistered one.

80 miles or 800,000 miles it's still just a bloody crappy Sherpa. I don't know what gets into peoples heads sometimes...................

its a lot of money for a MGB hi-top, but think of the misery of chugging along in it

We used to say that the TV Licensing authorities used Sherpas for their detector vans as it was better to buy a licence than risk the embarrassment of having a Sherpa pull up outside your house

It is a very rare survivor though - some say that's a good thing !

A diesel Sherpa minibus is a more exciting survivor than yet another Mini *runs away very fast*

My old man had a W plate petrol version. Great van. It was well abused by us.
When I was a postie back in the day we had diesel Sherpas, again, great vans.

They were often nicknamed 'Shirkers' but don't forget, when these came out in 1974 as a facelift J4, the Transit was still powered by a 2000 V4. They weren't a bad van and were as tough as old nails. They were too narrow to really compete with the Transit and the excellent (and wide) Bedford CF.

But it's not worth 8 grand. For £2000 it would be a great leisure thing to smoke around in, taking bits to shows and so on. A good dose of Waxoyl and care, and do 3-4000 miles a year in it, if that.
