Hopefully this fits here.

So it's very un-mini and far earlier than what I'm used to working on but I was hoping with the myriad of knowledge on here someone might know what it's from. I was told it was Ford but I've not been able to find anything similar.

Possibly MG?

What diameter are those drums? It might give a good indication of the era.

Looks Post war, but before the 60's.

The internal diameter on the drums is 11 3/4" and the PCD on the studs looks to be 4x 5 1/8".

I've looked at a few big Healey axles but they all have parallel leaf spring mounting where as my axle has angle ones.

The axle also came with a pair of cast aluminium brake backplates which are the same design as the pressed steel ones currently fitted.

I'll get some pictures of them up later.

there is no way that's big Healey

its a pre war (or a post war car designed pre war) as its cable or shaft brakes

its also upside down in your photo, it will sit on top of the springs

its certainly not model t or model a ford

I would guess that's its off a 'cheaper' car due to it having bolt on wheels, but the alloy backplates will suggest a sporting model, though a fancy sporting model would probably have an alloy diff carrier as well.

I think I would pull the diff out and see what marks are on that

It's definitely mechanical brakes rather than hydraulic. I've pulled the cover off the diff and there are a few markings but nothing obvious. I'll throw some pictures of those up with the backplates.

Here are the alu backplates and gear markings. I also pulled off all of the lock tabs to see if there were any more markings behind them but there was nothing extra.

It could be wrong, but may at least point you towards some people who might know.
