Both of mine are into 60,000 miles now, 40 odd thousand when i brought them, so its only a matter of time. One or the other gets used daily for work. As Rich says its better to have 2 as one of them always needs some weekend maintainance. Probably couldnt afford to buy 2 now as i brought these some years ago nice and cheap before they became, dare i say " cool " .
Wouldnt have anything else as a daily, just love the drive of them, cheers Tim

Well, I just went to check the Apache was all OK after my recent front hose repair. Checked the rear ones and bugger, one of them is weeping a tiny bit of fluid on the hose. ( same side as the front one ). So off with the rear one and back to Ian's for another re-hose. Good news is I managed to get it off OK without dismantling the radius arm.
Car has only covered 35000 kilometres but hey, it is over 40 years old. Just waiting for the other two to pop now.

I'd best get the old dalek working then in anticipation of my first hydro catastrophe, although I've never had any issues with the Cooper in 27 years so you never know.

is the correct term that the car has 'hydro-pissed-itself'?

What you want are coils and leaf springs. Like an A40.

David is the displacer keyed into the subframe per the mini requiring rotation to disengage from the lugs ?. Don't remember ever removing one from an ADO16 so just curious.

No it's not....usually just requires a bit of worrying to free it - the strut is often a headache so always best to re-assemble with copious amounts of copper grease. ;)
