F(*&^&ing Hydrolastic suspension!!!!!

Spent Saturday afternoon polishing my 1300 in readiness for Drive it day yesterday. Got all jobs done, looked sweet as a nut, drove it home, saw 95 on the clock driving it back. Parked up on drive, 5 minutes later there was a big fizzy brown puddle of Hydropiss all over the floor.

Guess what I'm doing this week.

Bloody thing!

Hydropiss

This is why you should always have two ado16. One to drive, one to enjoy!

We went to Lisburn yesterday and I took my Mk3 Cooper S over. Seen a nice MG 1300 and Austin 3-litre :D

If it's any consolation Mark, following my engine rebuild and the inevitable tarting up underneath I pumped up my suspension on Thursday to discover the same under the rear - and unlike should happen, the rear displacer just would not come out.....until the radius arm had been taken out - what an utter ball ache! All finished by Sunday

David is the displacer keyed into the subframe per the mini requiring rotation to disengage from the lugs ?. Don't remember ever removing one from an ADO16 so just curious.

Also if it is any consolation Mark, my Apache blew a front hydro hose on the way back from "Pride of Longbridge" show last week. Only 10 miles from home so limped it back on the bump stops. Got some funny looks though from other motorists. Luckily for me Ian Kennedy www.hydrosuspension.com is just down the road from me so I took it to him next day and he re-hosed it. Car was back on the road in a couple of days.
Great result. The trouble is you never know when the next one is going to blow.

Both of my ado 16, s are on original displacers, hoses etc and its something i dread everyday, so this thread is not helping the fear one bit.
