Yesterday I had the chance to look at something I believe to be a rare sight, even in Spain... and in nice condition.

A Spanish built Austin Victoria from 1973,
nice car with some very nice details… veglia dash, carello headlights , twin carb 1275, Bendix servo, nice BL mat set.

cheers
Luis

I have also never seen one before. The shape certainly mimics the basic look and proportions of the Triumph 1500 & Dolomite series quite well.

The ARO site has a few comparison shots and the similarity, especially from the rear, is striking. http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/cars/bmc-cars/1100-1300/11001300-international-variations/austin-victoria/

In your case Luis, what a beautiful example!

The shape was designed by Michelotti for British Leyland South Africa to meet local content requirements - the car actually uses the rear lights from the Mk 2 Triumph 2000/2500. South Africa then sold the design to Authi in Spain and for a while the cars were being made in both countries. There are subtle differences to the front between the South African and Spanish versions and even the inner wing pressings are different.

A number of Apaches made their way to Portugal via Angola.

In the UK/Ireland there are a tiny number of both Apache and Victoria examples.
