With so many people putting silver and back plates on cars that never had them originally, it's refreshing to see you putting the original yellow plate on the car Rich :)

Agreed!

I like seeing the yellow and white raised letter plates!

Are these the original plates ?. I want to fit reflective plates to my 73 BMW but I'm not sure if those offered by the usual suppliers have the correct font.
Are these stamped aluminium or separate plastic digits ?.

Yes they are the originals, & they are stamped.

as Mark says above, they are the original Hills made reflective backed stamped plates

they are proper thick stamped ones, not the modern thin 'pressed' ones

they look great

in the old days I would have slung them and stick a set of the boring black and silvers on it, but they have grown on me and are so well made its a shame to change them

Sadly I binned the original reflective plates that were on my Cooper, it was just the done thing back then. I do want period correct plates on the BMW though but not sure who to use. Tippers and Framptons look ok but I'm not sure the fonts are correct.

I have a load of NOS black number plate characters in boxes.

Can't remember the make offhand but am using them to make up a set of number plate for HOY using a pair of original round edges Hills backing plates - see my thread for the rear plate.

Mark bought a set off me some time ago...did you use them ?

Cor, that looks well nice does that. Extra bonus points for those plates too! I'm well jel.

Andrew: can you do DPN90K? I've got black and silvers because one of the approximately two hundred previous owners of mine ditched the lovely raised letter originals.
