If it can be saved, I would say save it.
Saving an ADO16 can be difficult & expensive. When it is only every going to be worth £3,000 or so, it is often the kindest thing to strip it for bits to keep other good ones & Mini's on the road.
True for the value of most cars but in really top condition (and there aren't many) they will fetch in excess of £10k - one particular Vanden Plas went to Japan for £28k and here in the UK there is a Vanden Plas in mint condition with barely over delivery mileage showing which has had almost £40k offered by a Japanese collector - but the owner really doesn't want to let the car go!
In truth I could point at £10k cars selling around one a month - really not many considering how many ado16's are for sale.....France is still a cheap place to get a decent example, or even Spain...but the lhd pedal position is an acquired taste...although Innocenti did address the matter but that's another story!
