Hi,

I've got a set of BWA Wheels 5x12 and 4x4,5" (4x114.3mm)

Can anyone tell me if they fit ADO16 cars?

Thanks

Romain (France)

Bolt pattern for ADO16 is 4 x 4.5" you would need to try them on a car to see if the offset works.

I am bringing back quite an old thread, but has anyone had experience with Mk2 Cosmics?

I love the look of them, but apparently they were not built very well. They do not centre correctly on the hubs, and produce some vibrations and judder during braking.

That contradicts everything I've been told about Cosmics (new and old) which are normally praised for being an easy wheel to just bolt on and go with. I'd suspect a damaged wheel or someone fitting them incorrectly more than a fault with Cosmics.

I agree

I suspect they have either lost the inserts or someone has been running the wrong taper nuts

they are a great looking wheel

Thanks for the suggestions.
The inserts are all there, but i have never thought that they may require nuts with some specific taper angle. I have to investigate further.
I was just in love with the looks. I got them in my hands the summer of 2006, the day i was leaving for vacations, but i just had had to fit them that day after a quick clean up. Through the years i was trying in vain to cure some light brake judder, swaping discs, drums, the lot. When one day i decided to remove the Cosmics for refurbishment, i returned to the steels and hubcaps. From that day the little Austin found again its smoothness at speed. I had a machine shop that repairs alloys check them for straightness, and they all seemed to be fine. It was that shop that suggested that there might be an issue with centering on the hubs, and went on to say that i could cure it by modyfing the hubs / drums with locating rings just like Metros and just about every modern really. At the moment the Austin is again on the standard steel wheels.
