So, seeing as the forum is very much about the broad church of BMC toot, I felt that Like Rich, I should introduce a degree of diversity.

My pal Robb has an Mk2 A40 Farina which we took down to Goodwood, and I was quite impressed. It was reasonably civilised, not too slow and seemed popular in a "I haven't seen one of those in years" kind of a way. It's basically a Morris Minor equivalent, but not as immediately recognised.

So, when he rang me to say He'd just been offered another as a project, and he and another of my pals had bought it between them to do a bit of work too and sell on, but would I like it..........?

Having dropped the price on the clubmans car, it's gone to new owner (Who I'm sure will keep us all posted with progress ;) ), I became the proud owner of a 1960 Mk1, which I'm refering too as the Midget Coupe.

It's a restored rolling shell (very much a 10 footer - any closer and the paints not too great) with the mechanicals and interior out the car. Mechanically it seems pretty good, so I'm going to just clean up the engine and box and stick them in to get it going and then see what needs doing. It's a 1098 with a 202 head, whereas it would have been a 948, so I think it may be from a midget. Brakes are the original drums all round, hydro mechanical on the rear, with cylinders on each wheel not coming 'till the Mk2!

Once it's running I may convert to Mk2 spec, or go for midget disks at the front as it's all pretty much bolt on stuff.

So far I've cleaned up the floor as it sat outside for a while post paint job, so it got a bit wet, and I gave the engine a scrub and a lick of paint today.

I'll try to do as much as I can at the workshop before bringing it home once the garage here is empty.

Anyway, a couple of pics to introduce it:

There was an extinguisher that looks like a flare gun and the Nennette Dougal duster in its original
tin holder not got paperwork yet as it was all stolen but its a car I grew up with as it belonged to a
family friend, luckily the original pedals were in a bag in the boot and bolted back on
